MS Walk: 5th Anniversary
The 2026 MS Walk is scheduled for Sunday May 31st, and I am once again fundraising for MS Canada. I will be participating in the Barrie MS Walk event. The event location is still to be determined. This is my 5th anniversary of participating in the MS Walk.
I would love to have you join me for the MS Walk. How can you participate?
You can donate here: https://msspwalk.donordrive.com/participants/79897
You can join my team and participate in fundraising here: https://msspwalk.donordrive.com/teams/16683
You can join me for the walk at 11:00am on May 31st.
You can join me for my 10K effort on Saturday May 30th (additional details below).
You can run or walk from anywhere in the world on May 31st in support of MS Canada.
I am truly humbled that the MS Life Among the Clouds team has raised $18,340.01 during the past four years. You all sure know how to make a girl feel loved and supported!
MS Canada has made it easier than ever to request that your company match your donation. When you submit your donation, search for your company under “See if your company will match your donation!”. If your company is listed, they have a corporate matching policy in place. This is a great way to maximize your donation.
The cutest member of the MS Life Among the Clouds team since day 1.
I have made it a tradition to run a 10K on the Saturday before MS Walk each year. This year I face a new challenge. If you read my recent blog post, “Plot Twist: Surviving a Catastrophic Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage and Discovering my Immune System is at it Again”, you will know that I had a near death experience on January 27th and lost over half of my blood volume. Recovery has been humbling to say the least. We’re still sorting out why this happened (likely Crohn’s Disease played a role, because apparently I collect autoimmune diseases like Pokémon cards). I still want to run my traditional 10K on Saturday May 30th. With the help of ChatGPT I’ve put together a conservative training plan adapted to my plethora of health problems. I’m training. I’m trying. I’m stubborn. But I recognize that my 10K may be a run, a run/walk, or a walk. Whatever it ends up looking like, I will show up and put in my level best, because that’s what this MS Warrior does.
If you would like to join me to walk, run, or bike part of the Thornton-Cookstown section of the Trans-Canada Trail on Satursday May 30th, you would be more than welcome. I will start from Meadowland Blvd in Thornton at 9:00am and start running (or walking as the case may be) South for an out and back.
FUNDRAISING INCENTIVE: CONTROL MY PLAYLIST
I always run to music. I am once again bringing back this popular fundraising incentive. If you donate $25 or more to my MS Walk fundraising campaign, you can add a song to my 10K playlist. Please send me an email at mslifeamongtheclouds@gmail.com with your song request.
Inspire me with something epic? Torture me with an early-2000s boy band deep cut? Remind me that the internet is for porn? (IYKYK) Have me questioning who would add a slow jam to my playlist at the 8K mark? Your move.
In all seriousness, I love this fundraising incentive because it makes me think about the donor who added the song to my list, which is welcome company while slogging out what may be a particularly challenging 10K this year.
Piper thinks that you should join the MS Life Among the Clouds team and come walk with us.
If you have any questions about the MS Walk, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I hope that you can join us either in person or from afar in raising MS awareness!
